Antietam: Windows to history in Bristol, Conn.

These two Civil War-related windows were added to my collection Saturday.
Here are your odd Civil War-related relics of the day: A pair of original windows from 16th Connecticut Captain Newton Manross' boyhood home in Bristol, Conn. Ken Hintz, the owner of the house since 1974, gave me the windows -- they were stored in his barn for years -- during a visit this afternoon. The original part of Hintz's house dates to 1746. Manross, 37, was killed at the Battle of Antietam on Sept. 17, 1862. I gave Ken the Manross placard below to place in front of his house.
