A visit to death site of Patrick Cleburne at Franklin, Tennessee

Confederate Gen. Patrick Cleburne – on foot after two of his mounts were shot out from under him -- was killed by a shot to the chest during the Battle of Franklin (Tenn.) on Nov. 30, 1864. A modern memorial of cannonballs marks the general area of his death on the east side of Columbia Pike, about 40 yards from Federal works,

Great job on this video and thank you! I lived outside Franklin for 23 years and visited Carter House and Carton House where Cleburne was laid on the porch with three other generals many times. I now live just south of Franklin and also remember the pizza restaurant that they thankfully took down and re-established part of the battlefield. I just received Don Troiani’s great print of Cleburne charging the line just before he died for Christmas and it hangs in my study.
