Jackie Kennedy slept here

On my way home this afternoon, I stopped at the famous Miss Porter's School, an all-girls boarding school in Farmington, Conn. Jacqueline Bouvier graduated from Miss Porter's in 1947, before she married John F. Kennedy and later became First Lady.

This school is built on the exact site of my ancestor's homestead. His name was John Lee, an original settler in Farmington, CT.

He came to Cambridge, MA, in 1632, as a teenage boy, moved in 1638 to what became Hartford, CT, with his guardian, William Westwood, as part of the Rev. Thomas Hooker party, and moved to Farmington c. 1644.

He was buried in 1690 in the Old Cemetery on Main St., Farmington ("Memento Mori"), and his original Puritan headstone still stands there.

Jackie slept here, and Aristotle bought it.
