After an 8-inch snowfall Friday, we can find some pretty interesting scenes around Avon, Conn. The football field at the high school is covered with snow and a thin layer of ice. Looks like I was the first to walk across it this morning as there were no footprints anywhere.

Grand Central Station views
Empire State Building views
Family took the train into NYC today, and we all went to the 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building for the first time. Cost: $68 for four people. View: priceless. A little cold and windy at the top, but that was a small price to pay for the spectacular view. And below is a view of the very top of the Empire State building. I shot this picture from the 86th floor with my cellphone camera. For an extra 15 bucks, you can go to the very top, the 102nd floor. We passed.
